A personal CRM for founders
Too many conversations to remember
In a single week a founder might speak to three investors, two candidates, a customer who is unhappy, an advisor, and a dozen people at an event. Any of them could matter in a year: the investor who passed but asked to hear back after the next milestone, the engineer who was not ready to move but might be in spring, the person at the event who knows exactly the customer you need.
What decides whether those threads go anywhere is detail. What the investor said they needed to see. Why the candidate said no. Who offered to make an introduction. None of that lands in an email.
Why the usual tools do not catch it
Fundraising spreadsheets and hiring tools track stages: contacted, meeting, passed. They are good at telling you where someone is in a process and bad at telling you what they said. Notes apps can hold it, but writing up a meeting properly takes longer than the gap before the next one, so it does not happen.
How Rucksack fits
Rucksack is built for the gap between meetings. Open it on your phone, speak for half a minute about the conversation you just had, and put the phone away. It transcribes what you said, works out which people and organisations you meant, and files the facts under each of them. If you mention "Tom" and you know two, it asks which one — and remembers your answer.
Before the follow-up call, open the person's page and read what you know. Every fact links back to the recording, so you can hear how you described it at the time.
If you are in a basement meeting room or on a plane, it still works: the note is kept on your phone and uploaded when you have signal again.
Built by a founder, for this
Rucksack's only user so far is its own founder, who built it for exactly this; a small group of invited testers is next. That is not a customer story, and it is not presented as one. It is the reason the product is shaped the way it is.
What it does not do
There is no investor pipeline, no deal stages, no reminders, no calendar or email integration, no contact import, and no sharing with co-founders. For a fundraising process with dozens of investors you will still want a tracker; Rucksack holds what the conversations contained. It is a closed beta, its interface is in English, and you can speak German or English.
