Voice CRM
Notes about people, by speaking
A voice CRM lets you update what you know about people by talking instead of typing. Rucksack is built around that — and around the ways voice goes wrong.
What is a voice CRM?
A voice CRM is a CRM you update by speaking. Instead of opening a record and filling in fields, you say what happened, and the system turns it into structured information.
In sales tools that usually means dictating a call summary into a deal record. In a personal CRM it means telling the tool what you learned about someone, right after you learned it.
Why voice works for notes about people
Notes about people get made at the worst possible moment: just after a conversation, on the way to the next thing, usually on a phone. A proper typed note rarely happens there. Half a minute of speaking does.
Speech also carries more. People tend to say things they would never bother to type — the name of someone’s daughter, the aside about a job they are unhappy in — and those details are exactly what makes the next conversation personal.
Where voice goes wrong
Voice has two weak spots, and both are about names.
The first is transcription. Speech recognition still mishears unusual names, and it gets worse when it is told to expect the wrong language.
The second is ambiguity. Even a perfect transcript says “Anna”, and you know two. A tool that guesses files facts under the wrong person — quietly, in a way you only notice when it matters.
How Rucksack handles it
It detects the language
Speak German or English. Rucksack detects which instead of assuming one — in testing, a fixed language setting lost words and invented names.
It asks when a name is ambiguous
If a name could mean more than one person, including near matches, Rucksack asks which one you meant and remembers your answer.
Every fact keeps its recording
When a transcript is wrong, you can hear what you really said. Every fact links back to the audio.
It works without signal
Record anyway. The note stays on your phone and uploads when you are back online.
What Rucksack is not
It isn’t a meeting recorder. It doesn’t listen in on calls; you talk to it after the conversation and say what was worth keeping. And it isn’t a sales CRM: there are no deals, pipelines or team features.
It is a closed beta. Here is what works today.
Frequently asked questions
Does Rucksack record my calls?
No. You record a short note yourself, after the conversation.
Can I type instead of speaking?
Yes. Typed notes go through the same process as spoken ones.
Which languages does Rucksack understand?
You can speak German or English, and the language is detected automatically. The app interface is in English.
